Portage FC took second place in the U-15 Boys division at the Golden Boy Tournament this past weekend.

The boys scored three shut-out wins in the round robin, beating Valley Garden Pauls 3-0 on Thursday, scoring a 1-0 win over PCW Malcolm on Saturday, then taking out the Lorette Sting 4-0 on Sunday. However, they fell 2-0 to South Winnipeg yesterday afternoon in the final, taking second overall.

Coach Jerry Lupkowski explains strong teamplay and an outstanding performance from their keeper, Rodrigo Rodriguez, allowed their team to make it to the finals once again this year.

He shares his thoughts on the final game.

"We played well in the final but we just couldn't convert. [We] walked away with our heads held high and had a great tournament."

Lupkowski adds the boys played their hearts out and he and Coach Ian Currie are very proud of them.
