The Central Plains Capitals fell 6-2 to Pembina Valley in Manitoba AAA Hockey in Morden last night.

The Caps found themselves down 2-1 after the first period, but that's as close as they would get to the Hawks. They battled hard to keep Pembina Valley off the scoresheet in the second but managed to give up 4 goals in the third while only scoring 1.

Head Coach Brad Gnidziejko says they started slow and couldn't catch up all game.

"The whole game, right from the drop of the puck we were half a step behind. We think we're working hard enough but we're not. They beat us to pucks, they beat us on the wall, we just didn't have anything for them."

He says the next few games will be a real gut check for the boys.

"We have to decide what kind of team we want to be. Are we going to rally and work for each other, or are we going to try and do it on our own, and we'll see what happens from there."
