The CJHL Western Canada Cup playoffs start today in Estevan Saskatchewan. The Portage Terriers will play the Melfort Mustangs in the 3 vs 4 match at 3pm this afternoon. It's a rematch of the opening game of the tournament where the Terriers beat the Mustangs 2-1. Portage had goals from Nick Henry and Brett Orr and outshot Melfort 31-21. Orr says they will be a tough team to play.

"They have a top line of kinda smaller quick skilled guys that can make plays. They are pretty good at hiding around the net and finding those open spots. We just have to play structured in our own end and keep an eye on those three."

Portage has won all 5 meetings over the past two seasons, beating them twice last year in the WCC and twice at the RBC Cup. The Terriers were 2-1-1 during the tournament, while the Mustangs were 1-3, picking up their lone victory over the winless Estevan Bruins. Forwards Brad and Shawn Bowles and defenseman Brett Orr lead the Terriers in scoring with 5 points each. Orr says they can't take Melfort for granted.

"Definitely not a team we can take lightly. They've given teams games, especially last year they kinda surprised some teams at the RBC when they beat Carleton Place. They have the same core from last year and can be a dangerous team."

Tonight at 8pm the 1st place Brooks Bandits will play the 2nd place West Kelowna Warriors in the tournament final. The winner will take home the trophy and the first berth to the RBC Cup. The losing team will play the winner of 3vs4 on Sunday at 5pm to determine who will earn the second berth to the RBC Cup.
