The PCI varsity Trojans and Saints were winners on the court last night in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Volleyball in Winnipeg.

Both teams won in 3 straight sets over the St. James Jimmies. Trojans' Head Coach Trevor Shackleton says there were some ups-and-downs but the got the job done.

"We played pretty good defense. We didn't serve exceptionally well in the second set, but overall it was still a good way to start."

The Trojans won their sets 25-15, 25-19, and 25-9. Shackleton says they need to be better at the serve to compete with stronger clubs.

The Saints won their games 25-5, 25-9, and 25-11. Saints' Head Coach Derek Casper says the girls really implemented the things they worked on in the one-sided victory.

"Our serving was actually very strong," says Casper. "The girls really focused on a couple of key things that we really wanted them to focus on and I think it all came together."

The varsity Saints and Trojans are off until Monday when they host Oak Park.
