The PCI Trojans were knocked out of the Zone 4 High School Hockey League Playoffs last night. They fell 4-3 in overtime to the Morden Thunder, after coming back and forcing the extra frame.

Morden opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game, which stood until late in the second period, when the Trojans scored two goals within a minute. Trojans' Hayden Burke scored first, and Captain Tyson Dyck netted the second to give them the lead.

Thunder's forward Brenden Turnbull scored back-to-back goals in the 3rd, completing his hat trick, and regaining their 1 goal lead. Desperation set in for the Trojans after that, and their leading playoff scorer Jagger Barrault scored with a minute to go to force overtime. Morden didn't take long to finish things off though, as they scored 5 minutes in to end the series.

The Trojans celebrate the game tying goal from Jaggar Barrault. Tyson Dyck picked up the assist on the play.

Trojans' Grade 12 Captain Tyson Dyck was disappointed with the loss, but pleased with his final season as Trojan.

"We did pretty good this year, we had a 3rd place finish which is the best the Trojans have ever done, so it was a pretty good year. We played well in the third period to tie it back up and make it go to overtime, we just couldn't do it in overtime."

Trojans' Grade 12 goalie Adam Lamblez made 31 saves in the loss, stopping a flurry of shots in the final few minutes. He says the loss doesn't sit very well.

Adam Lamblez makes one of his many saves on the night in his final game as a Trojan.

"Well, it's just you work so hard all game, and that one bounce goes their way. You've tried all year to make it to the finals, and you work so hard for 3 years and this is the farthest you've made it and it just doesn't go your way.... It doesn't feel good at all. It'll go down in history as the best team, and I'm glad I've been a part of it."

The Trojans finished the regular season in 3rd place, their highest finish in many years.
