The Santa Clara Baseball League resumes tonight.

There's 4 games on the docket including the Portage Padres visiting the Neepawa Cubs. The Padres haven't been on the field in over a week, as Wednesday's game against Minnedosa was cancelled due to poor field conditions. Padres' Player/Coach Tyler Butler says the boys are itching to get going.

"Absolutely, missing a couple games in-a-row to the weather is never a good thing when you have a short season. But everybody is excited to get back on the field for sure."

Butler says they can't take the Cubs lightly if they plan to win.

"They'll be a good team. They've added a couple more guys, and they're a gritty team. Every game with them will be close just like with every other team in the league."

The Padres and Cubs go at 7 p.m. in Neepawa. Tonight also sees Carberry visit Ebb and Flow, Plumas is in Austin, and Minnedosa's in Dauphin.

Wednesday's Padres and Mavericks that was cancelled has been rescheduled to 6p.m. Sunday at Rotary Republic Park.
