The MacGregor Mustangs finished second place at the 'AA' Senior Boys Basketball Provincial Championship this weekend in MacGregor.

They lost to Carman in the championship match to be awarded the silver medal, and Finalist Banner.

"It was a tough game," says head coach Myron Friesen. "Carman is really good and they were really sharp Saturday. We sustained some devastating injuries in the first quarter that we couldn't recover from."

Jason Wiebe was named MacGregor's Player of the Game in the championship match. Ben Friesen and Nathan Martens were named to the All-Star team with Carman's Rylan Metcalf, Steinbach's Liam Butler, and Niverville's Keegan Buhler.

Friesen also won the Player of the Game in the Mustangs' Semi-final match. Josh Kruse won for MacGregor in their opening game of the tournament.
