The Central Plains Capitals are off to the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League Championship Final. They eliminated Pembina Valley 3 games to 1, after their 1-0 Game 4 victory at the BDO Centre last night.

It only took the Capitals 8 seconds to get on the board, as Chelsea Hallson netted their first, and game winning goal. Hallson describes her game winner.

"We just got a forecheck in and Kelly (Zdan) threw the puck at the net, and the rebound came out and I just got my stick on it and put it in."

Caps' goalie Mckenna Wild picked up the shutout victory. Hallson comments on Wild's night.

"She played amazing tonight, definitely kept us in the game at the end. She had a huge pad save, she played really good."

Wild says they've grown a lot as a group, and really deserved the victory.

"I think they (girls) played amazing. They worked really hard, and won all the battles. I think that definitely we deserved the win."

Yellowhead also won their semi-final series last night, 4-1 over Westman, taking that semi 3-1. It sets up a re-match of last year's MFMHL final, but this year Yellowhead has home-ice advantage.
