Grab your pom poms, megaphone, facepaint, and don't forget those team colours.

It's the 3rd Annual Manitoba Cheer Federation Provincials at the PCU Centre today. Portage Regional Recreation Authority's Recreation Supervisor Monica Chorney outlines the details of today's event.

"It looks like there's about 400 athletes that will be competing. It's a mix of school teams and all star cheerleading teams that will be coming in and competing. The doors open at 9 o'clock that day, and competition starts at 10."

Choney says it's a very exciting day, and this year includes a few celebrities as well.

"The previous 2 years I've been here watching it, it's all ages. There's tumblers that looks as young as 6, all the way up to university. Manitoba's team was one year, and actually this year there's going to be a demonstration from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers' Cheerleaders."

The doors open at 9a.m. with competition starting at 10.
