Two students at MacGregor collegiate are holding their heads high after top 10 finishes at the MHSAA Provincial track meet.

Lane Donald and Kendall Marriott attended the Track and Field provincials In Winnipeg.

Grade 12 student Lane Donald tied for 6th in the 100 meter sprint and 5th in the senior boys hurdled, an event he used to struggle in.

"In grade 9 I didn't really do that well in either events. I just started the hurdles, that (grade 9) was the first year of trying hurdles," Donald adds. "Every year I just seemed to get better with the hurdles. I never made the finals in grade 10 or 11 but then this year things just sort of clicked."

Kendall Marriott a grade 10 student at MCI placed 6th in the 100 meter sprint with a time of 13.67. Marriott reflects on her personal best.

"It felt Really good. Last year I was so close to making it so I made it my goal this year to make the final, and that was my biggest goal," Marriott adds "It felt really good to achieve the goal that I set from last year."

Alongside the top 10 finishes MacGregor Collegiate tied for 6th in the AA Division Combined scores.
