PCI Trojans' varsity basketball player Olavo Williams-Cordeiro is off to the Basketball Manitoba's Graduating All-Star Game and Awards today.

The top graduating players in the province have been selected to compete, and varsity Trojans' Head Coach Janey McDonald explains it's an amazing accomplishment.

"To have Olavo get a little recognition like this, is not only profound for him, but it makes our school very proud that the efforts he's been putting is are being recognized."

Williams-Cordeiro's thrilled at the opportunity he's been given, and says it took a long time to get where he is.

"Apparently I was the first in about 6 years, and apparently it's a really big deal. I'm fairly excited, and I can't wait," admits Williams-Cordeiro. "Hard work, a lot of hard work brought me to where I am now and I'm really glad. Just a lot of consistent hard work."

He says he's been looking into post secondary education, but he hasn't made any decisions as of yet. Cordeiro is taking part in the 4A All Star Game that starts at 7:15 in Winnipeg.
