The Portage Islanders look for their second win of the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League tonight as they visit Notre Dame.

The Islanders only have 1 win this season and it came against Notre Dame on November 15th. The Islanders won that game 7-5 and Islanders' player Jeremy Brooks expects a tight game tonight.

"I think we need to do the same thing as last time, if we bear down defensively and keep that offensive touch up. I think we'll really be able to take it to them.

The Islanders are currently in last place with a 1-6 record, Notre Dame sits 2 points ahead at 1-4-2. Brooks says there's always a learning period when you enter the league as a new team.

"It's a lot more skilled than we expected, but we are a new group of guys. A lot of guys that are on our team haven't played in a while, or haven't played with each other, so it's still a bit of a process to kind of get to know each other, and get some chemistry between everybody. But it's a work in progress and we're starting to figure things out."

Tonight's game starts at 8.
