The Portage Islanders scored their second win of the SEMHL season last night with a 6-2 victory over the Altona Maroons.

Islanders manager and centre Jeremy Brooks says it's been a good start to the season.

"It was definitely a good game, defensively we lapsed a few times but our offense really clicked today, our imports started doing really well, our chemistry's getting better so it really showed out there today."

Jordyn Boyd scored a hat trick for the Islanders and Kyle Lopez, Anders Strome and Dan Leslie picked up Portage's other three goals. Brooks adds their goal-tender Mitch Wiebe also played a big part in the team's success during this game.

The Islanders hit the ice again today when they take on the Winkler Royals.
