In South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League action the Portage Islanders defeated the Winkler Royals 5-3 in their match up at the PCU Centre in Portage. Islanders' left wing, Tanner Waldvogel was responsible for four of the five goals in the game. He sums up the game.

"We had a few slow moments but overall we competed really well. We got the right end result so that's good."

Waldvogel feels that with a few minor adjustments, his team will be in a good position moving ahead into their next game.

"We just have got to get a little better in our end coming back to the puck and get a few more pucks on net to get the goalie moving and we should be good."

The are set to hit the ice Tuesday, January 19th in Carman. Puck drop is set for 8 P.M.
