The Manitoba High School Baseball Provincial Championships are today in Winkler.

The PCI Trojans earned a berth to the coveted tournament after winning the Zone title last Friday. Trojans' Head Coach Jay Dewis says the boys are excited to get going.

"Yeah we're looking forward to it. We felt like we played well in that final game, and we're just looking to keep that momentum rolling going into provincials."

The Trojans' last trip to provincials was in 2013 where they lost in the Championship Final. Dewis feels they've got a good shot to go far if they play a well rounded game.

"Just keep playing like we're playing in all areas. In a tournament like this, pitching is real important in terms of depth, and us managing the pitch count. So we just have to play well in all areas."

The Trojans' first game of the tournament is today at 2 p.m. against Pilot Mound. They play again at 7 p.m. against Steinbach Regional.
