Four Portage Collegiate Institute football players will get to continue their football careers next fall.

Brandon Friesen, Gage Foster, Isaiah Pangman and Teegan Beaulieu will all be leaving the province in the fall to continue their football careers. All four are graduating from PCI this year after making it all the way to the championship final last fall. Brandon Friesen's heading to Victoria, BC, to play for the Westshore Rebels in the BC Football Conference. He'll be going up against Pangman and Beaulieu in the BCFC as both have signed on with the Valley Huskers in Chilliwack. Gage Foster went the University route. He'll be suiting up for Queen's University Gaels in Kingston, Ontario in the fall.

Running back Brandon Friesen's excited to be heading out to beautiful British Columbia next fall to play for the Westshore Rebels in the BC Football Conference.

"I sent out my game-tape to pretty much all the junior teams and a lot of the university teams," says Friesen. "I got a lot of interest from all the junior teams and a couple university teams got invited out to spring camps and I decided I wanted to go to Westshore"

The Rebels won the BCFC last season and fell in the National Championship to the Saskatoon Hilltops.

"I figured if I can crack their good team I can get good playing time with better competition. I know they liked my game because I'll be playing there in the fall."

Friesen's going to take the year off from school to enjoy the experience. He'll be set up with a billet when he arrives.

"I might get a little homesick," he adds. "I'm just looking forward to more and better competition out there."

Gage Foster - Queen's University Gaels, Kingston, Ontario -

Receiver Gage Foster will be playing CIS Football next fall with the Queen's University Gaels.

"They contacted me later in the year and I sent them some tapes, and they liked what they saw," says Foster. "They got back in touch and we've been talking ever since. I didn't get a chance to make it out to their spring camp but I am heading out there this summer."

Foster heard they're a pretty good team and their strong education background also peaked his interest.

"I've always wanted to continue with football, but I never thought it would happen... Then it did," laughs Foster. "It feels great to continue on and get an education out of it too. I'm going to take year one to start because I'm not too sure about what I want to do."

Foster feels the team really liked his speed and he plans to use it when he's there.

Offensive linemates Teegan Beaulieu and Isaiah Pangman will be heading to BC this fall to play for Chilliwack's Valley Huskers in the BC Football Conference.

Beaulieu says the Valley Huskers are kind of like a football club in-between high school and university that play in the eight-team BCFC.

"They contacted me after the season was over, about a month or two after the season," says Beaulieu. "I didn't get any other calls because I didn't send that much tape out. I didn't have a great season this year because I was taken out in our first game. Pangman and I both went to their spring camp back in early May. They flew us out there to train and we met a bunch of great people. We had a good enough showing that they want us back."
