The Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League Playoffs begin today.

The PCI Trojans are in Winnipeg to face the Transcona Titans. Last year PCI went into the playoffs with several injuries, and this year won't be any different. Trojans' Head Coach Al Patterson says they've been preparing without certain players.

"We've definitely been trying to go through some things, making sure the kids stay sharp. And we've got a few players that are likely going to be unable to play for us, and it's going to make a big difference."

Trojans' goalie Riley Sveistrup's been a big part of the Trojans' success this season, yet he feels he can be better.

"Me especially. I'm really going to have to step up and stop letting in the weak ones that have been happening lately, and our defense our going to have to start playing the body a lot more. I've seen how we play, and I think we can pull off a couple of wins here."

The Trojans fell 5-4 to Transcona in their final game of the year. Sveistrup says the entire team's confident going into today's match though.

"I don't think, just because we have injuries it hasn't put anyone down. Everyone's pretty pumped for playoffs. It's that time of year where everyone gets going, and everyone wants to get to the finals and get the big W."

The Trojans and Titans go at 1 p.m. in Winnipeg.
