The Female Midget Central Plains Capitals are honouring a fallen player tonight at their Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League game against Norman at the BDO Centre.

Taylor Piskor played for the Bantam Capitals and passed away last year after an unfortunate accident. "Tragically last year Taylor Piskor was involved in an accident where she lost her life," says Midget Caps Head Coach Ferdi Nelissen. "She was one of our up-and-coming players that would have probably been playing with us this season and the region and the team, with the really strong support of close friends in Brenda and Todd Edwards, have come up with a memorial we're going to put up at the BDO Centre. We're doing that presentation right before the game starts."

The Caps host Norman tonight in a game Nelissen says could be very tough but inspirational. He feels they made good strides before the break and is looking forward to a strong 2017.

"We were competing well and we thought we could've had a couple of more wins than we actually got, but with a young team we're looking to progress and get ourselves in a spot where we are ready for the playoffs."

The Caps' presentation for Taylor Piskor will be at 7:30, puck drop is 8 at the BDO Centre.
