The Portage Islanders face a familiar situation tonight in Carman.

They'll look to avoid elimination in Game 6 of the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League Semi-final for the second year in-a-row. The Beavers finished the Islanders in six games last year and can do it again tonight with a 3-2 series lead heading in.

"We definitely don't want to get eliminated by them again," says Islanders' General Manager Jeremy Brooks. "They've kind of had our number (this year), and we'd like to beat them. We just need to make sure we bring everything we've got. It's an elimination game so it's do-or-die."

The Islanders won Game 5 Saturday night in Portage la Prairie to send the series back to Carman. They lost Game 1 of the series in overtime at Stride Place.

"We just need to worry about our game, and get our legs into it early," adds Brooks. "It's a road game and we haven't had too much success in their barn so far, so we have to make sure we show up ready to play. We'd love to force game seven back in Portage, but we need to focus on Game 6 right now and hope we can get there."

An Islander victory would force Game 7 in Portage Saturday night. The puck drops in Carman tonight at 8 p.m.
