The Portage Cobras notched their first win of the Manitoba Major Soccer League Division 6 season last night. They held out for a 2-1 victory over Polonia SC in Winnipeg.

Cobras' Centre Defenseman Layne Coltart says they're really coming together as a club.

"We kind of meshed a little more tonight. We worked hard on the sides, giving a lot of through balls and runs. We worked really hard."

Cobras' Adam Thomson and Theo Bosc both found the back of the net in the victory. Coltart says it would've been nice to finish the game stronger than they did.

"This game we kind of got a little sloppy in the defensive end, and we kind of turtled and went back to that defensive end. If we could just keep playing hard until the end, it would be much better."

The Cobras' next match is Sunday at Rotary Republic Park.
