The Portage Cobras continue their hunt for the top spot in Division 6 of the Manitoba Major Soccer League tonight.

Portage sits in 3rd place heading into tonight's match against last place Azzurri in Winnipeg. The Cobras had a huge win last week, when they won 3-1 over second place North Winnipeg, narrowing the gap by 3 points. Cobras' Chad Green says they have a lot of skilled youth players, and they've really came together as a club.

"I think the first few games that we lost there, it was guys getting some nerves out, a little bit nervous, and then it was just a matter of gelling with -- and finding the right mix and position for -- some guys. I think we've found that now."

This is a big game for the Cobras if they want to continue pressuring North Winnipeg and Interlake. Green says they can't take Azzurri lightly at all.

"Every game has been very close. Even (them), I think they're sitting in last place with 8 or 9 points. So that's only an 11 point spread between 3rd and last place, so every win is going to be an important one from here on out."

The Cobras and Azzurri go at 7:30.
