The Portage Cobras (0-0-1) are on the pitch today in Portage la Prairie.

They host Southside today in a Manitoba Major Soccer League Division 6 matchup at Rotary Republic Park. Portage looked good in their opening game of the season when they tied Les Blues 3-3 last week, and they're looking to build off that performance tonight.

"The team we played finished just above us last year so we're thinking they'll be a top team again, so to tie them was good," says Chad Green, player/coach. "The best thing about that game was we went down 3-2 with like five or ten minutes left and the guys didn't quit. We fought hard to get that tying goal."

Green would like to see the team tighten up positionally for this game. He says with tighter positions their defence will improve.

Tonight's game starts at 7 p.m. at Rotary Republic Park.
