The Portage Cobras picked up their first point of the Manitoba Major Soccer League season last night in Portage.

Their match against Azzurri at Rotary Republic Park ended in a scoreless draw. The Cobras' offense struggled to get quality scoring chances, luckily their Keeper Mike Robinson was stellar in front of the net. Robinson gives his thought's on the draw.

"We played hard. Everyone gave a good effort throughout the whole game. Unfortunately we weren't able to put one in the back of the net, but we were able to come away with a point, which is good after the 0-3 start. It's good to get a point on the board."

1 of Robinson's many amazing saves on the night

Robinson made 11 saves in the second half alone, 3 of which on clear-cut breakaways for Azzurri. He's confident the scoring will come.

"We played a good possession game today. We were able to hold a lot of the possession, move the ball around, we just struggled in the front third. Hopefully we can work on that in practice and put one or two in the net next game."

The Cobras' next game is Monday against Polonia FC.
