The Central Plains Female Capitals fell 4-2 to the Norman Wild in Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League action at the BDO Centre.

The Caps exploded out of the gate for a goal less than a minute into the game but really seemed to slow down as the game progressed. The teams were tied at two heading into the final frame but the Wild were the only team to light the lamp in the third.

"We just like broke down a little," says Caps' captain Marisa Fraser. "We could've done a lot better but I think we just lost focus and it hurt us."

Janelle Delaquis and Megan Ferg scored for the Caps. They face Norman again Saturday evening at the BDO Centre. "We need to be focused right from the start," says Fraser. "We really need to have more shots and get our passes down. Everything just needs to be better."

Puck drop is 6:15.

Forever Remembered

The Caps held a presentation for fallen Bantam Capital Taylor Piskor's family before the game. Todd Edwards, along with his wife and several players, had a memorial plaque and jersey put together which will hang at the BDO Centre.

"We've been close friends with the Piskor's for a long time," says Edwards. "Our daughter played with her, and was also her best friend, and we thought this would be a lasting legacy that will be in the rink for a long time we hope. It'll be a lasting memory of what Taylor meant to all of us."

Fraser says she didn't know Piskor personally but was moved during the presentation. "I play with a lot of people that knew her and played with her, but (the presentation) was really touching to me. It was a great idea for Halle's parents to go to Ferdi and have something like this done."
