****Tonight's Female Midget Caps game has been cancelled because of the weather******

The Female Midget Caps are in action Thursday.

They're in Winnipeg to face the Avros. Winnipeg has won both meetings this season, one of which in a shootout.

That game goes at 7:15.

The Central Plains Capitals were shut out 4-0 by Yellowhead last night in Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey at the BDO Centre in Portage.

The Caps' offence has hit small snag in 2017, scoring only five goals in three games and losing two of three. Leading scorer Joey Moffat only has two assists in the three games, and gives his thoughts on the short drought of scoring.

"I think we're just not burying our chances when we get them," says Moffat. "The puck will be sitting in the slot and we just let the defenceman clear it. We're just not banging in those rebounds."

Moffat adds it didn't help that they ran up against a hot goaltender as well. "We also had a few breakdowns in the defensive zone, but mostly we didn't bury those chances," adds Moffat.

They're back in action Saturday when they visit the Wheat Kings in Brandon.
