The Central Plains Capitals fell to the Pembina Valley Hawks last night in Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League action.

The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period while second-period action saw Joey Moffat's hat trick bring the Caps into the lead. Elijah Carels scored Pembina Valley's only goal of the period bringing the score to 5-3 to end the second. The Hawks scored two goals in the third, tying things up and bringing the game into overtime.

After a scoreless overtime, the game moved on to a shootout where the Hawks scored, winning the game with a final score of 6-5.

The Caps return to the ice February 1st when they take on the Wild at the MTS Iceplex.
