The Caps traveled to Winnipeg and returned to MFMHL play with a match up with the Avros picking up a solid 2-1 win and 2 important points in the tight league standings.

The two teams played a scoreless first period with the Caps outshooting the Avros 8-4 and having several quality scoring chances but just could not capitalize. The middle frame saw the Caps come out and play a complete period outshooting, out chancing and outscoring the Avros as they controlled the tempo of the period with good puck movement, a solid forecheck and positive defensive play. This positive play paid off when Sheridan Oswald forced a turnover and and went in on a partial breakaway and made a great deke to beat former Caps' netminder Lauren Taraschuk. The Caps made it 2-0 on the powerplay when Mekaela Fisher and Marisa Fraser worked to the puck to the net and Emily Upgang backhanded in the rebound. The Caps limited the Avros to 3 shots the entire period while the Caps fired 10 at the Avros net.

The third period saw the Caps come out very similar to the second however penalty trouble saqw the lose some momentum and the Avros finally took advantage on the their 3rd opportunity of the period scoring a rebound scramble after McKenna Wild made a couple of good saves. This was all the Avros could get by Wild in the game as she stopped 14 of 15 shots making some huge saves down in the final period as the Avros had some powerplay pressure and pulled the goalie to make the last one a 6 on 4. The Caps did a good job of winning some defensive zones faceoffs and not giving the Avros easy zone entry in the last minute of the game to secure the win.

The Caps now play their last MFMHL game before Christmas on Saturday December 19 when they host the Pembina Valley Hawks at the Portage BDO Centre in Portage la Prairie - Game Time is 4:00 pm.
