There's been a temporary coaching change for the Central Plains Capitals of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

The club announced recently Ken Brooks will fill in as the head coach, until an internal issue has been resolved. That's from Central Plains Capitals' Director John Ferg. The Caps' assistant coaches have also stepped aside until the issue can be resolved.

Brooks is in his first year as assistant coach for the Portage Terriers.

The Caps finished last season with only 8 wins under their belt, and missed the playoffs by a large margin. This year they've completely turned it around, finishing in 5th place, with 23 wins.

They go up against the Yellowhead Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs, which begins tomorrow night. The Caps are the underdog though, as Yellowhead won the season series 3 games to 1.
