The Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League final begins tonight between the Central Plains Capitals and the Yellowhead Chiefs.

It's a rematch of the 2015 final -- but with home-ice advantage switched -- as the Chiefs finished in the top spot this season. Caps' Head Coach Ferdi Nelissen says it's an amazing opportunity for his club.

"We knew we would be a lot younger, and the girls have responded well. It's a great way for our graduating players to also end their careers going into this championship series, and hopefully it won't be the end of it either."

The Caps have yet to beat Yellowhead this season. The closest match was on February 8th, when the Caps fell 3-2 in extra time. Nelissen says the Chiefs are a well-rounded team, and they'll have to limit their mistakes to be successful.

"They're a very solid hockey team from the net out. They don't have a whole lot of weaknesses. For us to be successful we're going to have to be very good in our own end, make sure we're moving the puck quickly -- getting it out -- and using our speed up front. There are no areas where you can be weak, and think that they won't take advantage of your mistakes."

Game 1 of the best-of-5 series is tonight in Shoal Lake. Puck drop is set for 7:30.
