The Central Plains Capitals came out on top last night in their game against the Yellowhead Chiefs, winning the match 3-2.

Mitchell Wilson started the team off with a goal in the first period, the Chiefs then scored two to take the lead, but a goal by Zak Smith tied the game up at 2-2. Joey Moffat scored the Caps' third goal of the night, putting them in the lead right to the end of the game.

Coach Brad Gnidziejko says he couldn't be happier. He explains Yellowhead had the better of them last game so they'd been working hard to prepare for the latest match. Gnidziejko describes the ups and downs of the game.

"They worked hard. We had a slow start, got down 2-1 but we fought back, and then for us to hold them in the third [period]. It's an objective of ours to learn how to close games out and not give up too many chances and lock things down, and they did that to a tee and it paid off for us in the end. It was fantastic, a great win for them."

The caps are back in action Sunday with they visit the Southwest Cougars.
