Portage Blaze were off to a great start in last night's Winnipeg Women's Soccer League game, as Janelle Dueck scored just 7 minutes in, when she received a cross at the top of the goal area and placed a low shot past the Maniko keeper for the early lead. However, in the final 25 minutes of the half, the Blaze had a few giveaways and surrendered three goals, to be down 3-1 at half.

Four minutes into the 2nd half the Blaze gave up a 4th goal on another giveaway just outside of the penalty area. For the reminder of the half, the Blaze did much better to keep possession and had the majority of the chance for the rest of the game with Cassidy George coming the closest when she knocked a shot off the crossbar with 14 minutes left.

Cassandra Cadman took the loss in goal.

The Blaze return home on Wednesday July 13 to take on the Stan Kerns.
