The Portage Curling Club's league championships, and awards banquet is tonight.

Along with tonight's event, they'll also be holding a fundraiser for Team Canada's World Senior Men’s Curling Team.

Team members Dale Michie and Dean Moxham are long-time members of the PCC, and are headed to Sweden in April to compete at the World Senior Men's Curling Championship. Portage Curling Club President Jared Munro says they wanted to give Michie and Moxham a proper send off.

"We wanted to have a fundraising dinner for them. We're also going to have our league windups that night as well. So the championship games will be starting at about 7 o'clock, and the awards will follow that."

Munro says it's an expensive trip to Sweden with Team Canada, and they're looking for some support from the community.

"Supper tickets are sold out now, but people are welcome to stop by the curling rink in the lounge area to wish Dean and Dale, and the rest of their team well. There's no charge to come up to the Tavern to do that, and we're going to have a bit of a formal presentation at 6:30, and the game will start at 7 p.m."

Tonight's send-off banquet is at the Tavern, with a special presentation at 6:30.
