Canad Inns won the 2016-17 Big Four Hockey League championship with a 12-8 win over Hub International in the final April 13. It was the third straight year Canad Inns captured the league title.

“It was a great final game,” says Team Canad Inns player Wes Huber. “It was close right until the end. We had a good bunch of guys that never gave up, and our goalie was probably the difference."

Canad Inns led the league wire-to-wire, finishing atop the regular season standings with a 12-6-0 mark then going 6-0 through the playoffs. HUB was 8-9-1 in the regular season and managed to advance to the final with a 3-3-0 mark in the playoffs.

Big Four is a recreational senior hockey league in Portage la Prairie that has been around since the 1970s.
