One Portage Thunder Ringette player came home with some hardware after the Winnipeg Ringette League's All-Star day over the weekend. Portage Thunder's 12-year-old goalie Reegan Vanstone won the U-14-B goalie skills competition, achieving a perfect score along the way. Vanstone was thrilled to be a part of the event, and explains how she won top prize.

"I saved all 4 shots, and I got all 4 throws into the bowls."

Vanstone says all the shooters for the goalie competition were U-14 players, and they tossed rings with their trappers into placed buckets. She had a lot of fun at the event with her teammates, but says it was a lot of hurry up and wait.

"When I first got there we had to register me, then I waited for the other 2 girls on my team. Then we got ready for the fastest skater and the hardest shot to go. Then it was our turn."

2 other players from the Portage Thunder U14-B team were also taking part. Megan Belinski tried her hand at the hardest shooter competition, and Talia Derksen went for fastest skater.

The following players took part in the U-19 All-Star Games, Tegan Hauser, Hayley Swidnicki, Erica Braden, Leah Dickenson, Emily Smith, Madison Lambert, McKenzie Brydges and Kasssidy Cunningham.
