The PCU Centre's all set for upcoming hockey season.

The lines and sponsors were painted yesterday and they're looking better than ever thanks to a few upgrades. Ice Coordinator Jim Nickels says they've added a few things this season that will really keep the ice in pristine conditions like osmosis filtered water.

"It gives us pure water. So there are less chemicals in it and it helps it freeze faster. All around it's better, it'll make for better ice quality."

Nickels says the quicker freeze will also help avoid puddles in-and-around the crease. He adds they've also got a new level-ice-system for their zamboni.

"It'll help keep our ice at a perfect level throughout the season. Without it, we've been having troubles with our corners getting high, but this new level ice system will keep everything at the same level across the whole ice surface."
