The Central Plains Capitals welcome the Winnipeg Wild to Portage for a Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League matchup this afternoon at the BDO Centre.

It's the rubber match between the two teams, as they've split the first two meetings. The Caps took the first 3-2 in a shootout at the PCU Centre, while the Wild won the second 8-3 in Winnipeg. The Caps are rolling with five straight wins. The Wild are 6-4 in their last 10.

"If we play our game and limit our mistakes against a team like the Wild we give ourselves a good chance to compete," says Caps' head coach Brad Gnidzjieko. "But if we make mistakes in the wrong part of the ice there's going to be a good chance (for the Wild) coming back the other way. At the end of the day, we just have to come and play our game, everyone pulling on the same rope, and that will give us the best chance to compete."

It's a big game for the Caps: A regulation victory would put them into second place. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m.
