Softball Manitoba and Baseball Manitoba are preparing for the start of their 2020 seasons.

Both associations, which had their seasons delayed because of COVID-19, got the go-ahead from Sport Manitoba and the government to return to the diamonds after submitting their Return to Play documents.

Softball Manitoba will spend the first half of June educating leagues and teams on sanitizing and new rules.

League play will begin June 16 and Provincial Championships have been rescheduled to the month of August.

Baseball Manitoba’s Return to Train will start around June 8 and will include what the responsibilities are of umpires, players, coaches, parents, spectators and health and safety co-ordinators.

The association is hoping for a July 1 or earlier start to the season.

Provincial Baseball Championships have been cancelled for 2020.
