The Central Plains Capitals suffered a tough 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Avros tonight in Manitoba Female Midget Hockey in Winnipeg.

The Caps were clearly the better team on the ice, but former netminder Lauren Taraschuk came ready to play. Caps' Lindsay Rutherford gave them a 1-0 lead, which they held into the 3rd period.

The Avros struck quickly in the period, scoring 2 goals, and holding out for the win. The Caps are back in action Friday night when they visit Yellowhead in Shoal Lake.
