The Portage Blaze are on the pitch tonight in the Winnipeg Women's Soccer League

They host Fusion tonight in Division 2 action at Rotary Republic Park. The Blaze's last action was at the Central Plains Cup, where the were eliminated in the semi final. Blaze Head Coach Bryan Mintenko says they'll have to play through some pain tonight.

"Well it's going to be a tough game. We have a couple of lingering injuries from the tournament, but we did see some good things at the tournament. Some good passing and the players were really starting to gel."

Mintenko helped form the Fusion club -- an affiliate of the Blaze -- and expects a challenging game from them tonight.

"It's a tough opponent. I know the players quite well, and they're all very skilled players who are coming off a bad loss. So they'll be hungry for a win."

The Blaze and Fusion go at 7 p.m. at Rotary Republic Park.
