Four unanswered goals led the Portage Islanders to their second win of the season in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League last night.

They beat Notre Dame 5-2 on the road, with scoring coming from 4 different players. Islanders' Kyle Lopez gave the team a 1 nothing lead 4 minutes into the first period, assists going to Tanner Waldvogel and Eric Delong on the play.

The Islanders added 2 more in the second, one from Chris Reykdal, and the other from Anders Strome. Waldvogel and Delong each picked up their second assists on the play, Tanner Blight picked up assists on each second period goal. Islanders' Doug Lawrence and Dan Leslie set up A J Spiller's goal in the 3rd, giving them a 4 goal lead halfway through the period.

Notre Dame netted 2 quick goals in a row -- one from Brian Michiels (MICHAELS and another from Chris Prejet (PREHJET)-- and things looked a little scary for the Islanders approaching the end of the game. The quickly found their game again, and Strome netted his second of the night off a pass from Waldvogel on the powerplay at the end of the game.

The Islanders are at the PCU Centre Friday night as they host Altona at 8.
