The Central Plains Capitals strung their 3rd win in a row last night, as they defeated the Interlake Lightning 5-2 in Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey at the PCU Centre.

It was a very physical evening, as the teams weren't afraid to throw the body at both ends of the rink. A 1-1 first period saw Capitals' defender Austin Friesen pick up his second of the year.

Central Plains really poured it on in the second, adding 3 more goals in the frame, Lane Taylor, Chance Dickenson and Brody Moffat were the scorers.

The Lightning popped one in at the start of the 3rd, but with just under 7 minutes to go Liam Mackenzie made it 5-2 Caps, and sealed the win. Caps' forward Ryan Sinclair had two assists on the night, and gives his thoughts on their recent success.

"You know, both the effort level and we're getting good bounces out there. We used the body a lot, and we're a really fast team, we were using our speed and pucks were going in."

The Caps are in Dauphin tomorrow night to face Parkland.
