***POSTPONED - WEATHER***

It's game day in the Santa Clara Baseball League.

The Portage Padres and Minnedosa Mavericks re-match is tonight, after they tied last Friday. Padres' catcher Daylan Laramee was impressed with their postive attitude in that game, and says they need another strong outing at the plate.

"The hitting was really impressive that night, we made some errors in the field and everything else, but the hitting is what got us through that game."

Both teams are 1-0-1 this season, with one make-up game necessary so far. Laramee says it's important to get on the Mavericks' pitchers early, and have more consistent scoring.

"You can't wait until the 4th or 5th inning to score 7 runs. You're not going to win games just by being a 1 inning team to score runs, you have to score every inning. I think with our batting line-up this year we have the potential to be scoring runs every inning."

The Padres and Mavericks go at 7 p.m. at Rotary Republic Park. Also, the Neepawa Cubs are in Austin to face the A's.
