The City of Portage la Prairie has issued a reminder to its citizens of its eight-week water main flushing program taking place this summer.

As of Sunday, July 17, the program will begin its fourth week as the city continues to clear iron and calcium scale deposits to maintain high-quality water.

The city asks that residents within the area getting flushed out should not use any hot water until they have operated their cold water taps to clear the line of any discoloration that may occur during flushing.

Flushing will take place between the night-time hours of 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. with the following areas being affected:

Week #4 - July 17 - July 22
