The Portage la Prairie Fire Department was called this morning after a car was found abandoned and burned in the RM of Portage.

The department says it was located at Road 59N near Road 47W, southwest of Portage. Firefighters say that the car was still smouldering upon arrival, so they hosed it down.  They assume it was burned overnight and wasn't noticed until a passerby saw it and made the report.
