The Arborg water treatment plant will soon see some upgrades. The town was approved for $400,000 in upgrades to the plant to replace some of the pipes, among other things. Mayor Randy Sigurdson says funding for the upgrades is coming from mulitiple levels.

"It's a three-way project, we were approved for a grant for that. The feds will give us a third, the province will give us a third, and we look after a third," says Sigurdson.

He notes water is a necessity to be taken care of, which is why the treatment plant is seeing upgrades.

"Water is a high priority. Anytime you're sending water through an urban area, there's all kinds of requirements that have to be met," Sigurdson says.

Sigurdson adds the town had to formally sign a contract with the Water Services Board, so they could get approved to look after the project.
