The Central Plains Capitals went 1-1 over the weekend in U15 Manitoba Female Hockey League action.

On Saturday, the Caps travelled to Carman to face the Pembina Valley Hawks. The Hawks were victorious 9-6. Madeline McKay had a hat-trick and three assists in the loss. Lily Hume added two goals and an assist while Taylor Terin had the other goal, along with three helpers. Sofia Lund played two periods and stopped 16 of 21 shots while Olivia May stopped 11 of the 14 shots she faced.

In Sunday's game, the Caps played at the BDO Centre in Portage la Prairie, welcoming the Eastman Selects to town. This was their CancerCare fundraiser game and the girls raised $1,235. On the ice, they bounced back with a 4-1 win. Madeleine McKay had a goal and an assist while Faith Legault, Ava Mirrlees, and Lucy Waldner each added a goal. Taylor Terin had two assists while Emily Holmes, Kali Rey, Jerzee Robichaud each added one. Sofia Lund played the whole game stopping 20 pucks out of 21 attempts to pick up the win.

The Caps will welcome the Hawks to the BDO Centre on Saturday with puck drop set for 5:45 p.m.
