The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Gradyn Ross of Treherne Collegiate.

In his final year at the school, Ross is a valuable cog in many of the Tiger's sports programs.  A multi sport athlete, Ross was a member of the golf and cross-country teams in the fall and is currently having great seasons with both the volleyball and hockey teams.

A setter/power hitter for the Tigers, Ross helped lead the Tigers to the top of the Zone 6 standings and a spot at the Provincial Qualifiers for the "A" Boys Volleyball Provincials.

Coach Darrel Vandenbussche commented on his play.

"He has helped the team climb up the standings the last month and earn an upset over the Glenboro Panthers this past week. Gradyn had a beautiful game dispersing the ball and coming up with some clutch hits.  Defense is his specialty, refusing to let any ball hit the floor that is sent in his direction."

Ross is also a key contributor for the Pembina Tigers hockey team who have started the season with a 5-1 record. Ross has 5 goals and 5 assists to this point of the season and is third in team scoring. The veteran forward is known for his tenacious forecheck and speed on the ice.

Ross doesn't just excel at athletics. The grade 12 student also currently maintains an 80% academic average.
