Gull Lake was rocked this weekend after a series of tornadoes touched down.

Gull Lake and other Manitoba Campgrounds continue clean up efforts after a series of tornadoes swept through the area.  The system left trailers overturned, trees were ripped from the ground and one person was killed.

The Portage area escaped the system, Miller's Campground Owner Willie Levandosky was shocked at the amount of devastation the twister left in its wake and says it shows a tornado can touch down anywhere.

Levandosky is uncertain as to whether an early warning system would have been able to help the situation.

Currently our province relies solely on Environment Canada's severe weather warnings and watches.

The Manitoba government has been pushing for a national public alert system for the past several years.
