The Portage-Lisgar MP wants to protect children from what he calls "sick adults".

The Tories have introduced a proposal to raise the age of sexual consent to 16 -- up from 14.  Brian Pallister feels the bill which is designed to discourage sexual predators is long overdue.

He has started to generate support for the bill and plans to continue until it's voted on in the fall.

Pallister indicates the Portage-Lisgar constituency has shown concrete support for the measure, and he has numbers to prove it.  Last year's 50-town tally results shows support for the proposal was the highest at 98 per cent.
