The Portage Terriers are looking to break a bad habit as they prepare for game four of their AVAVET Cup series against the Battlefords North Stars.

Forward Chase Brakel says they have been starting off strong in each game, but they let their opponents back into the game.

"Yeah, obviously that's something we need to work on, having leads in the first two games as well, and losing them," says Brakel. "Billaney was keeping the guys calm and telling us all to settle down, and I think after going through so many games in the playoffs, we're used to that already."

The Terriers led 2-0 in game one, before losing 3-2. In game two, they led 2-0 before going down 3-2. They fought back to win 4-3 in overtime. In game three, they led 3-1 and gave up two goals before finally winning 5-3.

That being said, a win is a win, and the Terriers lead the best-of-seven series 2-1. They still have to play two more games as part of a back-to-back-to-back.

"You know, it was nice to get the first game out of the way, to steal one in their barn like they did to us," says Brakel. (We want to) roll with the momentum going into game two (of three in a row)."

Game time for game four is 8:30 p.m. our time, and the action will get underway on CFRY, PortageOnline.com and the Portage Live app at 8:20 p.m. our time.
